Brand New Set of Wheels to Launch in India in 2020-2021

The spread of pandemic affected the Indian automobile industry hard, but with the sales going upwards, automobile giants are getting warmed up to recapture the top position in market with an exciting list of new models. Latest Car Reviews show the excitement of car enthusiasts about these upcoming new cars in 2020-2021.

Nissan Terra:
The upcoming new Nissan Terra will be an AWD based on the wagon platform, which is, incidentally shared with the ladder–frame platform of Mercedes X-Class pick-up. It will host LED Daytime running lights at the front and LED tail lights at the rear. The car will come with 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/60R18 Bridgestone Dueler tyres for a perfect rugged stance. The interior section will have brilliant seating comfort and will have well furnished leather seats. This car will come packed with a variety of tech and comfort features like wide infotainment system coupled with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, AC vents at the roof as well as the rear end of the central console, roof-mounted control option for fan-speed and temperature. The Nissan Terra will have a powertrain of 4-cylinder, 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine, mated to a 7-speed AMT. It will produce max power of 190hp and peak torque of 450Nm. The price range of this upcoming car will start from INR. 20 Lakh.

Audi A4:
The Audi A4 facelift was unveiled in May 2019 and will finally go on sale in the Indian market in first quarter of 2021. Compared to the earlier model, the face lifted A4 features prominent revisions to the exterior including new headlamps and tail lamps with LED signatures in line with Audi’s current design language as seen on the A6 and A8. The grille and the front and rear bumpers have been re-styled as well. Inside, the most eye-catching change includes a new and bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and the rotary dial placed lower down next to the gear selector. This model will come with a powerful 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The engine produces 190bhp and 320Nm. No diesel variant is on offer as of yet. The price range will start from INR.42 lakh.

Toyota Fortuner:
The new Toyota Fortuner comes with a revised face with sharper features, a larger grille and a sleeker LED projector headlamp. The SUV also comes with a new front bumper with larger intakes, new smaller fog lamps, silver skid plate, updated ORVMs, and new multi-spoke alloy wheels. As per the New Car Reviews in India, the interior instrument cluster has been moderately updated and a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been installed. Other notable features ay include electrically adjustable front passenger seats, wireless phone charger, LED ambient lighting, 9-speaker JBL audio system and a 360-degree camera view. The new models will be equipped with a BS-6 compliant 2.7-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine making 164bp and 245Nm torque, and a 2.8-litre engine with a 201bhp and 500Nm torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed sequential automatic unit. As per the new car reviews, the price range will start from INR.29 Lakh onwards.


Jeep Compass:
The much awaited new Jeep Compass will be unveiled in India in January 2021. The carmaker is expected to commence the pre-booking for the updated Compass very soon. It gets a bigger 7-slat grille with chrome finish, sleeker headlamps with new inserts, revised bumper and a newly-designed fog lap assembly. The interior gets a new floating 10.1-inch infotainment system, which comes with FCA’s latest UConnect 5 technology and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other notable features may include the new 3-spoke steering wheel, double-stitched leather upholstery, a 360-degree parking camera and a fully digital instrument console. The new Jeep Compass will be powered by 1.4-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Multijet diesel engine options. While the turbo gasoline unit make 161bhp and 250Nm of torque, the oil burner delivers 173hp with 350Nm torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox will continue to be standard on the SUV model line-up. While a 7-speed DCT transmission will be reserved for the turbo-petrol variants, a 9-speed automatic gearbox will be exclusively offered on the diesel variants. The starting price for the new Jeep Compass will be INR.17 Lakh.
 

Mahindra XUV 500:
Mahindra is set to give a generation change to the XUV 500 in early next year. The model will witness significant cosmetic and feature upgrades along with a new engine set up. Up front, the new XUV 500 features a more upright new grille, there is a pair of interesting ridges on the bonnet and it also gets attention-grabbing C-shaped headlamps and DRLs. The new model will also have a slightly longer wheelbase, which will make the three-row cabin more spacious and practical. The new XUV500 is also expected to be loaded to the brim with features and segment-leading tech. The dashboard comes with two flash-mounted horizontal screens, designed to look like one long panel. Other notable changes may include a sporty, flat-bottom steering wheel, electronic parking brake, hill hold, drive modes and panoramic sun-roof.  It will come with two engine options. First one is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel, delivering 185 bhp, and there will be a 190hp, 2.0-litre, direct-injection turbo petrol engine, with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed Aisin-delivered torque converter automatic gear box. Kia Motors Has Big Plans for Indian Automobile Market

Kia Motors India, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Korean automobile giant Kia Motors Corporation of South Korea, made its India debut with the Seltos SUV in 2019. Kia India currently offers three popular models of different price range-Sonet, Seltos and Carnival. The price of these three models varies between INR.6.71 Lakh and INR.33.95 Lakh.  Kia is planning to rule the Indian market by launching as-much-as fourteen new models in 2020-2021, and Kia car review in general shows tremendous possibility in India. Kia Cerato:
Kia Cerato is expected to launch in India in 2020-2021, and will look into value for money prospects as-well-as rich feature and style. The front end will be the most eye-catching. Kia’s signature butterfly grille with chrome trim around will take the centre stage. The projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and stylish fog lamps will add to its charm. One of the most popular mid-sized SUVs from the brand, Kia Sportage is going to rule Indian roads within 2021. The front grille of this car is treated will high gloss black material, which adds to its stylish appeal. The major attractions at the exterior of this car will include features like Bi-Xenon headlights, LED Daytime running lamps, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, roof-rails, stylish alloy wheels etc. Kia Sportage will come with multiple powertrain options but expected to launch with a 2.0-litre CRDI diesel engine in India first, with an output of 184 bhp of peak power and 392 Nm of torque. This popular SUV model is based on Kia Rio/Hyundai’s GB platform is already on sale on European markets and getting warmed up for its Indian counterpart. Being a compact SUV, it is likely to feature a –seat layout and a large boot for storing luggage. This model is available in the European market with three engine options including the 1.0-litre, turbocharged, three-pot petro, 1.4-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirant engine and a 1.6-litre oil burner. As for the Indian market, there is yet no clarity on this front. The on-road price of this upcoming Kia car is expected to be around INR.9 Lakh.

Kia Sorento:
This SUV from the Korean brand is set to launch in India sometime in 2021. A perfect balance between size and performance, the Kia Sorento will feature a chrome-finished grille at the front, while the top-of-the line GT line variant will receive an additional fog light. It will also pack a chrome exhaust tip at the back and red brake callipers as standard provisions. Kia claimed, this is going to be the most tech-filled car, and it will pack a myriad variety of comfort and connectivity features. It will be layered with a new 8.0-inch infotainment system with TomTom Satnav, supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also get a wireless phone charger and black leather seats. Kia Sorento is available in international market with a 2.4-litre petrol unit, a 2.0-litre oil burner and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. Apart from 8-speed gear-box, it can also be available in 6-speed manual as-well-as automatic transmission unit. Standard version is two-wheel drive but a 4-wheel drive is also optional.
