Top Five New Car Launches in India

The festive season is almost upon us and despite of recent pandemic, people are preparing to buy their dream vehicles in this auspicious time. The two and four wheeler sales have been on a steady rise since lockdown is eased and automakers are expecting huge increase in the coming months. Listed below are five upcoming cars which will be launched across segments in 2020 or 2021.

Mercedes Benz A-Class Limousine

Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of their A-Class Limousine in India in 2020. Expected to be prices around 40 Lakh (Ex-Showroom), the token amount for booking will be 2 Lakh. This sweet Sedan will be available in petrol, diesel and AMG variants. This car is going to replace the previous A-Class hatchback sedan and will slot below the upcoming CLA sedan. The A-Class Limousine is going to be the most affordable three-star sedan, and with its wide array of features like a set of sporty twin-5-spoke alloy wheels, new sleeker ORVMs with integrated LED turn signal lights, a bold waistline, blackened B-pillar, and sloping roofline, its sure to win the hearts of many.  Standard front-wheel drive models likely include the A200, which is powered by a 163HP, 1.3 litres, turbo-petrol engine, and the A200d, which is powered by a 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel. Both of these will likely be mated to dual-clutch automatic gearboxes. Customers interested in more performances will also have the option of the AMG A35, which is powered by a 306HP, 2.0 litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, and gets a all-wheel drive.


Volkswagen The Passat

In 2020, Volkswagen is going to reintroduce its flagship Sedan, The Passat. While the old VW Passat is only BS4 compliant, the facelift version will comply even with BS6 emission norms. The upgraded Passat returns with a redesigned face, with a new grille featuring thick chrome slats, flanked by a pair of new sharper-looking wraparound headlamps with LED lights and LED daytime running lamps. It also gets a rear bumper that makes the back of the cur look more hunky and the name ‘Passat’ is scrawled across the boot lid. Of the many different engine options the 2020 VW Passat is made with, the 2.0 litre TSI-turbocharged four-cylinder unit that produces 190PS at 4200-6000RPM and 320Torque at 1,500-4,100RPM will likely be offered in the Indian-spec car. Without a doubt, the 7-speed DSG dual clutch automatic transmission will be standard. Offering a tremendous value for money, The Passat is expected to be prices around INR 34-35 Lakh when goes on sale.


Mahindra TUV300 Plus

If you are looking for a large, family sized SUV, the all-new Mahindra TUV300 Plus is going to be one of the best options for you. This nine-seater SUV replaces XYLO in Mahindra’s India line up. Although, the TUV300 Plus is almost identical to older TUV300, with redesigning it gets a vertically stacked-out five-slate grille with subtle chrome inserts and rectangular fog lamps. The engine will be a 2.2 litre mHawk, which is D120, means it will churn 120BHP of power at4000 RPM and 280Nm of torque at 1,800-2,800RPM and it will come mated with a six speed manual transmission. This model is estimated to be around INR 10-12 Lakh.

Lexus UX

The upcoming Lexus UX is the brands first attempt to step into the small segment of SUV crossover. The Toyota owned premium car brand confirms that the Lexus UX will be available in three trim levels: Base, F Sport and Luxury, all of which will have a 2.0 Litre, four-cylinder engine and hybrid system that uses two electric motors to provide a total of 176BHP and is mated to a new CVT unit. With an arsenal of new features and ground-up redesigning, this four wheel drive also gets the Lexus Safety System+ which will include a pre-collision system and radar detection. Estimated to be around INR 35-40 Lakh, this car is going to be the dream-come-true for many collectors.

Audi Q7

With major upgrade in both aesthetic and tech department, Audi is going to launch its all-new Q7 in India. Both the new BS6 compliant engine and feature rich offering is going to make this car a sturdy competitor to its rivals, which is expected to launch in India in October 2020. This car will come with an option of 3.0 Litre both petrol and diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and get a 48V mild-hybrid electrical system to enhance efficiency. The new Q7 is also available with optional electromechanical active roll stabilization and all-wheel steering to boost handling, both with standard steel spring or optional air suspension. It also gets a coasting function, which will allow the car to be driven for up to 40sec with the engine switched off. Both the five and seven-seater version of Q7 will be available in the India market for around INR 75-80 Lakh.
